Description:

Film made in Hollywood to support Canada's Eighth Victory Loan and the U.S. Seventh War Loan. This Canadian version features: host Bob Hope greeting the audience; Betty Grable singing and dancing; Bing Crosby telling a joke while waiting in the wings; Harry James and His Orchestra; Canadian-born Jack Carson introducing Frank Sinatra; Benny Goodman and Harry James performing together; Canadian-born Deanna Durbin singing; Frank Sinatra again; Harpo Marx playing the harp; a salute to pin-up girls; and Bing Crosby singing the Bond Rally Song. Throughout this variety show the entertainers mention Canada and that this show is dedicated to the Canadian men overseas. At the conclusion there is a picture of a beaver and the slogan "Dam the Enemy. Buy Victory Bonds". <20mn>
