Df [with ms notes in Di Pietro's handwriting]. "Geografia ecclesiastica scritta nella maggior parte dal Card[inale] Di Pietro." General comments, Europe, Asia, Africa, America. The portion on America has a general introduction and a section on Louisiana.

[1] The general introduction mentions the following places and persons: Canada, the United States, Louisiana, Florida, Mexico or New Spain, New Mexico, California, Verrazzano, Hurons, Iroquois, Illinois, British conquest that followed the penultimate Treaty [of Paris, 10 February 1763], bishopric of Québec, Montréal Seminary, Labrador (currently without priests), Georgia (Savannah), North Carolina, South Carolina (Charleston), Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania (Philadelphia), treaty of 30 November 1782 [provisional articles of peace between Great Britain and the United States, followed by the Treaty of Paris-Versailles of 3 September 1783], Protestants, Quakers, Presbyterians, Catholics in Connecticut, Massachussets, Pennsylvania, Louisiana (New Orleans), its 10,000 inhabitants and bp. [Porro y Reinado], Cuba, Jamaica, Saint-Domingue, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Grenada, St. Lucia, Tobago, Brazil, Guyane, Cayenne, Terceira [in the Azores].

[2] The section on Louisiana recalls its history from 1512 [to 1803]; mentions Florida, Marquette, Jolliet, the Mississippi river, [Cavelier de] La Salle, [Le Moyne d']Iberville, New Orleans; cites as sources Vaissette's Géographie [historique, ecclésiastique et civile], Raynal's Histoire philosophique, La Harpe's Compendio de' viaggi [i.e., Abrégé de l'histoire générale des voyages].
