The writer attaches an Instruction listing a number of questions that Plessis, bp. of Québec, must be requested to answer, namely, [1] what are the duties of the members of the Legislative Council [of Lower Canada], and whether they also have jurisdiction over religious and ecclesiastical matters; [2] whether its members must take any oath; [3] whether its members must publicly pray or take any part in religious cerimonies; [4] whether the participation of a Catholic bp. in a Protestant body might be reason for scandal. PF notes (an Instruction was sent to Pedicini on 27 November 1818 [see SOCG 080 093] according to Di Pietro's guidelines). B: fol. 134v.
