AM. A detailed report on the state of religion in England. As to North America, Adda was responsible for granting the jurisdiction over the English colonies to the vic.s ap. in the London district. The current vic. ap. [Challoner], who is 80, was granted faculties for six years [recte faculties were first granted to Petre on 23 Jan. 1757, then three times renewed to Challoner on 25 Mar. 1759, 31 Mar. 1765, and 10 Mar. 1771; see Acta 204; Varia 72 241 259 271-272]. His jurisdiction does not include Canada, administered by the bp. of Québec [Briand]. Jesuits have missions in Maryland and Pennsylvania. Bs: 512v, 525rv, 529v.
