ALS. The writer encloses a map of New France (the author of which is a Father [Capuchin] who lived there tree years) and a description of the country (Jesuit, Capuchin and English residences are shown) [both missing]. He wrote to Archange [de Fossez] to make sure that his decree be extended to ¨North America where Frenchmen are and where there are no other regular or secular priest,¨ yet he is willing to go to a more southerly area where natives are numerous. The provinces of Lyon and Provence accepted his division of the missions [Canada not mentioned]. PF S. PF notes [in Ingoli's handwriting] (the said natives may be similar to those described in a report concerning New Mexico).
