The image comprises four separate prints. One print is text set on a patterned background. In the upper, centre and lower left areas are dark figures in a street scene with text set on a patterned background centre right., Text: c.r.; this man knew out the secret ways of love / no man could paint such things who did not know / & now she's gone who was his Cyprian / & you are here who are the isles to me / theres the thing that lasts the whole thing out: the eyes of this dead lady speak to me, You dragged your feet when you went out / by the gate now the moss is grown / the different mosses: to deep to clear them away / the leaves fall early this autumn, in wind the paired butterflies are already yellow with august / they hurt me: I grow older, while our fates twine together / sate we our eyes with love / for long night comes upon you / & a day when no day returns, beauty is not eternal / no man hath perrenial fortune / slow foot or swift foot / death delays but for a season.
