The Murdock silhouette is full length in profile to the right with right hand on hip and left hand resting on chest. THE SMITH SILHOUETTE is full length in profile to the right with the hair braided and hands crossed at the waist. The mount is a folio from the artist's own album of duplicate silhouettes., Lukis family, Guernsey, given to them by the artist following a shipwreck: Mrs. Emily Nevill Jackson, acquired from the son of Frederica Lukis, daughter of Thomas Lukis to whom Edouart gave the album.
