The majority of the fonds consists of works by James Peachey. However, there are some works by James Hunter. James Peachey (active ca. 1773-1797) was a British military surveyor/draughtsman whose watercolours represent some of the first landscape views done in Canada.

Fonds consists of a view of the ruins of the Fort at Cataraqui, Ontario; a view of Fort Niagara taken from the Heights near Navy Hall; a view of the city and basin of Quebec City, Quebec; a view of the Citadel at Quebec City, Quebec; several general views of Quebec City, Quebec; scenes at Montmorency Falls, Quebec; and Quebec and Ontario landscapes. There are also 18 pen and ink watercolours, most of which depict Quebec landscapes, which were created to accompany a map of the St. Lawrence River valley.

The works attributed to James Hunter include views of Ticonderoga, Quebec and views of St. John's, Newfoundland.

There are also print engravings of Peachey's work, engraved by Storer and published by H. Fisher, Sons & Co. of London, England in 1829.

Peachey's work, including both original watercolours and engravings after his work, can also be found in the Peter Winkworth Collection and the Coverdale Collection of Canadiana.
