Additional Carl Schaefer papers including daily diary/appointment books, 1955, 1958, 1961, 1979; WWII records including Schaefer's discharge papers and letters of recommendation 1940s; notes by Schaefer on his career, on specific paintings and on art in general; correspondence, including letters from friends and other artists (including David Blackwood, David Young, Rosemary Kilbourn, John Inglis, Aba Bayefsky, Fred Haines) largely from the 1970s-1980s but including a few cards from the 1950s-1960s and correspondence with "Fortune" magazine from the 1940s; subject files, dating largely from the 1970s and 1980s and including the following: Agnes Etherington Art Gallery, Art Supplies, Canadian Artists Representation, Glenbow Museum, Laurentian University, Market Gallery, McMichael Gallery, "Northward Journal", Ontario College of Art, Print and Drawing Council of Canada, Schneider School of Fine Arts, Tom Thomson Memorial Art Gallery, Trinity College School, University of Lethbridge, Visual Arts Ontario; clippings; a guest book 1968.
Photographs depict following subjects, 1945-1985: Carl Schaefer on various social occasions with Canadian artists such as Caven Atkins, David Blackwood, Pat Cowley-Brown and Henri Masson; Carl Schaefer teaching at the Schneider School of Fine Art in Actinolite, Ontario; Carl Schaefer at the opening of exibitions at the Art Gallery of Ontario and at the Market Gallery in Toronto, Ontario. Photographs by Tanya Axiuk, Fred Brown, P. Goodwin, Gwen Kenny, Mark Schaefer and Ken Wilson.
Artwork by Carl Schaefer and many of his friends and associates. Works by others are primarily Christmas and greeting cards.
