A bronze medal sculptured for the Paris Mint by French Medallist, Henri Dropsy. The medal commemorates the life and work of Renaissance physician and astrologer, Nostradamus (1503-1566). He is best known for his book "The Prophecies" (1555), in which he made long-term predictions about things that would happen in the worlds' future.

The obverse side of the medal displays a forward facing bust of Nostradamus and is engraved with his name, date of birth and death, as well as his professions.

The reverse side of the medal displays an image of the cosmos as the macrocosm and man as the microcosm (one of Nostradmus' leading astrological and philosophical concepts).
