A bronze medal commemorating the life of Philip IV (also known as Philip the Fair), King of France and by virtue of his marriage, Philip I, King of Navarre. He reigned as king in France from 1285 until his death in 1314.

He is best known for his suppression of the Order of the Knights Templar, many of whose members were arrested, tortured, and executed on his orders. This chiefly occurred on Friday, October 13th, 1307 (Friday the 13th).

The obverse side of the medal displays a bust of Philip IV by Armand Caqué.

The reverse side of the medal is engraved with a short history of Philip IV.
