More scenes from the 1935 Motion Picture Bureau film LEST WE FORGET are featured in this program, displaying major Canadian battles during World War One. Battles include: Somme; Messines; Vimy Ridge; Passchendaele; Ypres; Salient; and Sanctuary Woods. Footage also includes: inhabitants of Ypres fleeing the city; Canadian troops arriving in Ypres and taking position in the trenches north-east of the city; the German trenches and the initial use of poison gas; the German offensive and the Canadian defense of Ypres; Canadian troops in the trenches near the Messines River; the rains during the winter of 1915; the remains of Ypres after its destruction; the wreckage following the Battle of Sanctuary Woods; battle scenes; the King of England; Field Marshal Lord French and Major-General David Watson reviewing the 4th Canadian Division before its departure for France; Canadian forces gathering at Somme under Colonel Sam Hughes and relieving the Austrians on August 31, 1915; the initial use of tanks; artillery bombardment of Germans at Courcellette; Canadian infantry charging over "No-Man's Land" accompanied by tanks and under German gunfire; all four Canadian divisions gathering at Vimy Ridge; General Sir Julian Byng and his staff planning strategy using giant detailed maps; troops training; heavy guns being positioned and bombarding Vimy Ridge; Easter services for the troops on April 8, 1917; and German machine gunners. <30mn>
