Description:

A show about the people, places and events in the Ottawa Valley area.~Director Nick Pawley, and monitor John Wallace are interviewed by Bob Knapp about the school, located near Maniwaki. For a price, students learn about woodcraft, handling emergencies, rock climbing, and water skills. Camera cuts to rock climbers performing on a cliff and lowering a "casualty" by means of a special rig. Knapp listens in on a class learning about wild food and surviving in the brush taught by Stewart Guy. Knapp also visists the School's water activity department at Lac Fournier near Mont Ste-Marie. There students learn how to handle kayaks, voyageur canoes and ordinary craft. Final sequence on an inititative test consisting of climbing a pole and dropping a tire over the top. <27mn>
