In co-operation with the federal Department of Fisheries, the provincial government set up a programme with area fisherman whereby salmon were tagged and monitored for migration patterns. By controlling water levels and building proper fishways, they were able to increase the fish population. Shots include: an animation sequence showing how a fishway works; scenic shots of the La Have River; fishermen tagging salmon and putting them back in the water; a group of men installing and using a fish counter. <11mn>Language:EnglishNotes:Detailed holdings information: -
