He moves back to the city finding work as a security guard. He is shot and killed leaving his pregnant wife to fend for herself. She stays with an aunt and works as a secretary. The aunt gives her child away and the girl accidentally kills her aunt when she will not reveal the whereabouts of the child. After a stint in prison she hires a crooked detective to look for the child. He finds the child but blackmails the adoptive parents while bleeding the girl white. To pay him she works at night in a clip joint. Eventually all is revealed by the detective=s callow assistant. She abducts the child then returns her. In court the judge agrees that the adoption was not legal so she is not guilty.
