Description:

A short amateur film in quasi-slapstick style comedy with humourous references to advertising films.~The Morawetz family is making preparations for grandmother's 60th birthday. They decide to surprise her with a chocolate cake of "Velimska" chocolate which mother bakes. On the day of the celebration, the youngest son, Jenda, "tastes" the cake and then almost finishes it off with the help of the other kids. Father brings the news to mother who faints and dogs consume the rest of the cake, thus proving that "Velimka" is appreciated even by a dog. <10mn>

1. Boy Oskar, characterized as "a friend of music and animals", is Oskar Morawetz (seven years old).~2. Filmed at the Morawetz family retreat in Svetla n/Sazavou, Czechoslovakia.~3. The Morawetz family owned a textile factory in Upice, Czechoslovakia. During WWII, the factory was taken over by Nazis, but the film survived, hidden in a safe in the factory's office. After the war, Herbert Morawetz (the brother of Oskar Morawetz) brought the film to Canada.
