Archival footage acquired for research and/or reuse in the CBC television series The Days Before Yesterday.~CBC television show entitled Take Five, celebrating five years of CBC television. It shows: scenes from CBC plays; crew working; behind-the-scenes work at CBC stations; actors relaxing; cameras filming hockey games; editing operations; studio activity; processing, labelling and shipping of television recordings (kinescopes) of CBC television programs; shooting outdoor scenes for television play; talent search; scenes from shows and plays on CBC, including a scene from the drama Flight into Danger, the 1956 Grey Cup and part of Queen Elizabeth's coronation; filming of ceremonies on Parliament Hill; television towers; more shots of plays; film crews; general studio activities; and credits for the program. Also discussed or shown: network programming; opening ceremonies, the expansion of French programming, and the 1954 British Empire Games attended by Prince Philip and Viscount Alexander. <1000 feet>
