Intertitles explain the steps and shots show the actions being carried out: milk is poured into a vat to stand and ripen for 24 hours; coils in the vat regulate the temperature and stir the milk; oleo oil is melted into glass-lined kettles; a government inspector takes a sample; this mixture is then cooled into flakes and left to ripen for another 24 hours. After this, creamery butter is added to the oleomargarine and they are left to churn in rotating drums; salt is added before the oleomargarine is removed from the mixer and rolled out; a Dominion Government inspector takes a sample to be sent to Ottawa for analysis. Finally, the margarine is cubed, wrapped and weighed; a woman is shown loading the cubes into a box and sealing it with a "Dominion of Canada approved" sticker. <8mn 49s>Language:Silent with English intertitlesOriginal number:2094~2095Notes:Detailed holdings information: -
