Earl, a young batchelor away at school, decides to marry and his parents are delighted. His father sends a telegram from Los Angeles to his son in Colegrove, California. They have one girl in mind, Lillian, and he has another, Betty. He discusses it with a friend. A pennant with the name "Toronto, Canada" is on the wall. His choice of best man creates a big surprise.

1. The creator of this film, Al Christie, was born in London, Ontario, and died in 1951. Copyright, therefore, expired 31 December 2001.~2. The book "The Braff Silent Short Film Working Papers", by Richard E. Braff, does not list a 1915 Christie Film Company production with this title but does list one released on 30 December 1918, directed by Al E. Christie and starring Earl Rodney and Dorothy Devore.~3. The opening credits spells Dorothy Devore's name as De Vore.~4. Greater Features Inc. is in Seattle.~5. There is an edit, creating a jump cut near the end (a reaction shot appears to be cut short).~6. Bob Browning plays Earl, Dorothy Devore plays Betty and Leota Lorraine plays Lillian.
