Fisher goes on to describe the CBC's move from Davenport Road to Jarvis Street, a move which was effected without a break in service. He explains radio transmission east and west across Canada via repeaters. On one occasion, a railroad conductor trying to contact the railroad got on the air with a soap-opera. Hearing two women talking, he assumed they were trespassing on railroad property and ordered them to get off the line, with much profanity. For sometime afterwards, many letters going out of the CBC began: "Dear Listener: In reply to your letter we regret to say that the swearing heard over our network last week was due to factors beyond our control". <15mn>Language:EnglishNotes:Detailed holdings information: -
