Description:

Canada's arctic frontier presents a frigid challenge to defense. The film shows Canadian soldiers training in Fort Churchill to overcome the enemies of fear and fatigue - the initial response to the arctic environment. At the Defence Research Board's northern laboratories scientists test the effects of cold on the human body, looking for answers to help inure soldiers to the arctic rigors as they acquire the necessary new methods of travel and survival. <11mn>
