Description:

Documentary on the manufacturing of automobiles from the processing of raw materials to the roll out of the finished product. 1932 automobiles stream by the camera. Cut to aerial shots of a large auto plant. Sound track reveals statistics on the auto industry and provides commentary and rousing marching music. Sequences on steel production, casting, forging, machining, etc., with numerous close-ups of the action. Seats are made while men and women work on electrical components. Steering gears, bumpers, wheels, tires, headlamps are shown being produced in satellite plants. The steps in making radiator cores are shown from refining of copper to installation. The British Columbia and Northern Ontario lumber industry provide materials for body frames. Elsewhere, men prepare sheet metal for fenders, hoods, etc. Cut from thousands of sheep to textile mill and upholstering department. Trims, glass are prepared and installed and finished bodies are fitted onto waiting chassis. Final sequence on processing of lead and construction of batteries. The film ends with more statistics on the industry.
