NATIONAL PRESS THEATREAccession:1993-0304Media:VideoPart:1 of 1Production date:1993-07-27Production company:House of CommonsDescription:Press conference held by the Minister for International Trade Thomas Hockin. In an opening statement, the Minister says he is pleased with today's ruling by the United States' International Trade Commission announcing that imports of two steel products from Canada did not harm the steel industry in the United States. Hockin notes that the products comprise about sixty percent of Canadian steel exports being investigated by the United States. Questions follow.~Liberal critic Herb Gray is pleased with this decision but says that the United States is continuing its arbitary harassment on Canadian exports.~New Democratic Party representative Len Taylor suggests that the government should implement a "steel accord" instead of relying on the Free Trade Agreement. <35mn>Language:English / FrançaisNotes:Detailed holdings information: -
