IshigakiDescription:Television documentary film in which correspondent Michael Maclear examines the mood of North Vietnam since the cessation of American bombing in 1968 and after the death of its leader, Ho Chi Minh. Maclear travels through the devastated southern provinces of North Vietnam reporting on the living conditions that exist in the ruined towns and across the awesome craters left behind by American bombs. In spite of all its destruction, North Vietnam shows an impressive social organization as seen in field hospitals, schools, and agricultural societies. In Hanoi, Maclear attends one of the National Assembly meetings where new leadership is evaluated after Ho Chi Minh's death. Includes exclusive footage on Ho Chi Minh's funeral and on some of the leaders - General Vo Nguyen Giap, Defence Minister; Truong Chinh, Chairman of the National Assembly; Le Duan, first secretary of the Workers Party; and Prime Minister, Pham Van Dong. <60mn>Language:EnglishOriginal number:61-2-2104-9004-CNotes:Detailed holdings information: -
