On the occassion of the Queens University of Kingston centennial, a ceremony installing the Governor General, the Earl of Athlone, as rector, is held.~Footage includes: views of processions; scenes of the Convocation Ceremony held in Grant Hall; the Right Honourable Ernest Lapointe, Minister of Justice, standing with Dr. R.C. Wallace, Principal of Queens; Charles Avery Dunning, LLD Chancellor; Charlotte Elizabeth Whitton, CBE, the only woman to receive an honourary degree at this convocation, and executive director of the Canadian Welfare Council; Prime Minister Mackenzie King who attended the Centennary dinner; Governor General and his wife, Princess Alice, leaving Kingston Hall after the ceremony; Reverend Hugh Cameron, the oldest living graduate of Queens University; Albert (Alf) Pierce, the oldest trainer and mascot of Queens University Rugby for over 60 years; former graduates seated on the stands in the playing field; and the Earl of Athlone inspecting the University Canadian Officers Training Corps (COTC). <4mn 22s>
