This program documents a large-scale cattle drive organized by The Canadian Rodeo Historical Association and The Stockman's Memorial Foundation, to help preserve the history of the Canadian West by raising funds to develop The Western Heritage Centre in Cochrane, Alberta.~Covered wagons, people in period costume and riders herding 500 head of cattle along a 40 kilometre trail through the Alberta Foothills evokes the old west. Additional footage includes striking panoramic views of the trek, stops for repairing wagons and tending horses, making camp and entertaining each other, crowds of observers along the highway, a surprise visit from the RCMP and the arrival of the drive in Cochrane, where controversy over the heritage centre ended in financial success as a result of the drive.~Interviewed are Steve Gundry, General Manager of the Western Heritage Centre, Bob Hale, the Trail Boss, Neil McKinnon, the Cattle Drive Chairman, ranchers who built a chuckwagon especially for the event and other participants who explain why this event is important to them. <30mn>
