The fonds consists of records pertaining to Rex LeLacheur's musical activities. It contains compositions and musical arrangements by LeLacheur, including a cantata entitled The Resurrection and Ascension of our Lord and a Missa Brevis; concert programmes; and sound recordings of vocal works by Rex and Marjorie LeLacheur and the Rex LeLacheur Singers.

LeLacheur, Rex, 1910-1984 : Rex LeLacheur was born on the Channel Island of Guernsey. He began his musical studies with his father and, after moving to Toronto in 1927, continued his training with John Hughes Howell and H.A. Fricker. He sang on radio in Toronto at that time, and in 1944 was a finalist in the Metropolitan Opera Auditions of the Air. After working as an insurance agent in Ottawa, he resumed his career as a singer, composer, teacher and choir director in 1951. His compositions were primarily songs and choral pieces such as Forever England and Hymne du Centenaire.
