This sub-series consists of maps that were created in the Canadian Geographic Information System. The Canada Miscellaneous Collection was part of the Canada Land Data System Division, Lands Directorate data holdings that were managed in the Canadian Geographic Information System (CGIS). The Collection consists of the following projects:
Canada 1:2M (Project 201-2110). Coverages include: (9334) Canada Shoreline; (9351) Land Cover (Canada), ecodistricts and ecoregions of Canada; (9362) Attribute Schema for Census Divisions; and (9370) Canada Watershed.
Canada 1:7.5M (Project 201-2111). Coverages include: (9382) Environomic Units, a hybrid mapping unit framework created by combining socioeconomic/census divisions with land resource/ecoregions of Canada. (Project 201-2112). Coverage (9372) Canada 1:7.5M modelling : Ecoclimatic Regions, depicts ecoclimatic boundaries of Canada.
Canada Place Names, NTS Index (Project 3190-0175). Coverages include: (8000) Canada Place Names, a point coverage containing the major place names of Canada to be included in the Index Overlay; (9097) Canada Shoreline, depicts the outline of Canada with provincial and district boundaries and overlaid with the N.T.S. Index coverage; (9098) NTS Index (1:250,000), coverage depicts the location of all the 1:250,000 scale maps covering all of Canada. Coverages are at the 1:50 000 scale.
The National Atlas data is found in three separate projects: (Project 945-0102), coverages include: (9135) Glacial Geology Atlas of Canada; (9136) Permafrost Atlas of Canada; (9137) Canada Soils Atlas of Canada; (9138) Vegetation Atlas of Canada; (9139) Air Temperature Atlas of Canada; (9140) Precipitation Atlas of Canada; (9141) Physiography Atlas of Canada; (9142) Canada Shoreline Atlas of Canada; (9146) Intensity and Distribution of Acid Rain; (9147) Water bodies in Canada. Project (201-2101), coverage (9152) Acid Rain -- 80, depicts intensity and distribution of Acid Rain on a national basis; (ERGN) overlay coverage which provides one more ecoregion to EREG. Project (3190-0102), contains overlay coverages (EREG and ECOR) relate to the National Atlas. (Coverages are at the 1:50,000 scale).
Prime Resource Lands of Canada (Project 201-2107). Coverages include: (8026) Recreation, point data; (8033) Parks and Conservation Lands; (8034) Hydro Electric Sites, point data; (8035) Forestry North, point data; (8036) Mineral, point data; (8037) Enumeration, point data depicts the populated areas in Northern Canada; (9326) Shoreline, Provincial and CLI, represents the boundaries between land and water in Canada, as well as provincial, territorial International boundaries and the CLI boundary; (9327) Agriculture (CLI) - generalized; (9328) Forestry (CLI) - generalized; (9329) Wet Land Distribution; (9330) Productive Forest Land (CLI) - generalized; (9332) Parks and Conservation Lands, depicts the National, Provincial Parks of Canada and conservation lands of the North; (9333) Wildlife; (9334) Hvdrocarbon Development of Northern Canada; (9335) Forestry Northern Canada; (9336) Minerals of Northern Canada; (9337) Native Harvesting Areas of Northern Canada; (9338) Caribou Habitat of Northern Canada; (9339) Land Issue Areas of Canada; (9340) Census Divisions within Canada; (9341) Shoreline and CLI Boundary. Coverages are at the at the 1:7.5M scale.
Rural Land Use Analysis (RLAP) (Project 203-2109): This project is a 3-theme study of the conflict between agriculture and forestry across Canada. Coverages include: (9345) CLI Agriculture; (9346) CLI Forestry; (9347) Productive Forest (1981); and (9348) Census Divisions. The original data was at the 1:7,500,000 scale based on a Lambert projection. In the CGIS archives, this collection was stored as four separate coverages, simulating the equivalent of a single 1:50 000 NTS map sheet.
