Series consists of a file of office related correspondence and memoranda kept by Mary Macdonald from the Prime Minister's office. Mary Macdonald's memoranda to the Prime Minister 1972-1974 provide sharp insight into the domestic political situation.

The majority of photographs are press photographs of Trudeau taken at various events. Many of these photographs include Mary Macdonald in the background. There is also a set of Trudeau family photographs taken in April 1973 and presented to Mary Macdonald by artist Richi Eva Vincent Prager as a Christmas gift.

The series also includes an audio cassette recording of Pierre Elliott Trudeau speaking to the Mount Royal Riding Association, 20 April 1978. This recording has good sound quality. There is a brief introduction by the president of the association, then Mr. Trudeau speaks for approximately 10 minutes, followed by an extensive question and answer period. Topics discussed include defence policy, funding for scientific research, inflation, unemloyment, the economy in general, Quebec separatism (national unity), repatriating the constitution and capital punishment. The recording offers some insight into the relationship between Trudeau and his consistuents and his interaction with the grass roots of his party.
