The fonds consists of approximately 4000 colour 35mm. Kodachrome slides documenting the Expo '67 world's fair site in Montreal, both during the fair in 1967, as well as in 1969, 1970 and 1971. The photographs were taken by two amateur photographers, Mr Philip David Rosengarten and Mr. William Gittes, both of Montreal. The slides document all of the major pavilions and sites of the Fair, as well as many events. Mr. Rosengarten returned to the Expo site from 1968 to 1971 to document the use of the site after the Fair ended in 1967.

Rosengarten, Philip David, b. 1930 : Philip David Rosengarten is an amateur photographer, and was a Montreal real estate broker and industrial research and development executive. His patented Filament Winding Machine produced the lighting fixtures for Expo '67.

Gittes, William, 1895-1991 : William Gittes (1895-1991) was the president of Sterling Woolens and Silks Co. Ltd., as well as president of the Textile Wholesale Association of Canada. He was an administrator in the Wartime Prices Trade Board from 1945-47. He was a leader of the Montreal Jewish community, and was an Honorary Chairman of the Combined Jewish Appeal, a Governor of the Jewish General Hospital, and an Honorary Vice-President and Trustee of the Temple Emmanuel Beth Shalom.
