The item is a photocopy of a fragment of a memoir by Herbert Tearoe which describes his voyage to Canada from England in SS "Lake Manitoba", a CPR steamship, with the Barr colonists who were destined for Saskatchewan, under the leadership of Rev. Isaac M. Barr and Rev. George E. Lloyd. Some 2,600 passengers crowded into the ship many of whom ultimately founded the town of Lloydminster. Tearoe himself only went as far as Gladstone, Manitoba. The brief memoir describes the cramped conditions and sleeping and dining arrangements on board the ship.

General note:

A list of passengers in the SS "Lake Manitoba", 31 March to 10 April 1903, that was published in the "Lloydminster Times" on 17 July 1963 includes the name of "James Tearoe", age 17, a clerk.
