General note:

This Branch was part of Secretary of State (RG6) and was named Official Languages Support Branch. When Canadian Heritage inherited this fonction in 1993 it bacame the Official Languages Support Programs Branch (OLSP). OLSP is part of the Citizenship and Heritage Sector at Canadian Heritage.
The objectives of the Official Languages Support Programs Branch are to promote the full recognition and use of both English and French in Canadian society and to encourage the development of Francophone and Anglophone communities in minority situations.
