The sub-series consists of: an account book, 1895; accounts and invoices, 1852-1915; nine receipt books, 1854-1894; receipts, 1851-1914; a bills payable book, 1881-1886. Although similar in nature, accounts and receipts were clearly distinguished by Samuel Rollin Hesson who labelled the back of the records as being either accounts or receipts.
