This album, comprised of 100 pages on which 99 photographs are mounted, is concerned solely with the church's involvement in missions, schools, and hospitals in the North during the specified time period. There are many photographs of missions and what they looked like in earlier days versus their "present day" appearance. The photos are accompanied by statistics inserted into the album. These statistics are gathered information about: the total number of priests, nuns, churches, chapels, day schools, residential schools, students, teachers, as well as the total number of Catholics and Protestants in the area and what their racial background is (Caucasian, Native, Inuit, or "other", e.g. half Caucasian, half African-Canadian). The statistics are from 1950 - 1951 and based on the Mackenzie district, Alberta and Saskatchewan. The source of the album is the Vicariate Apostolique of Mackenzie (?) and the majority of the photographs are from the late 1930s to the early 1950s.
