Beckett, W. J., died 1892 : Wm. J. Beckett was listed in directories as a carpenter in 1873-74, 1874-75; and was part of the firm Beckett & Aspell in 1875. He was later listed as a contractor, working out of the Queen's Hotel in 1885-86; and the Grand Union hotel in 1887-1888; and was listed as an architect, working out of the same hotel in 1888-89, 1889-90; and as a draftsman, also working out of that hotel, 1891-92. His widow, Annie B. Beckett, is listed at the Grand Union Hotel in 1892-93.

Note on the state of conservation:

Items #7, 17 and 22 have edge tears and need repair. Item #5 has black watercolour stains. Items #5 and 8 are mounted on heavier paper for support.

Drawings were donated in 1954 by Miss Beckett of North Gower, Ont..
