Series consists of Canadian Folk Arts Council historical and administrative records; Board of Directors correspondence; general correspondence; correspondence with government departments and other organizations; minutes, correspondence and reports of the Executive and Annual Meetings; financial records; files of the Ontario Folk Arts Council, Community Folk Arts Council of Metropolitan Toronto and various folk arts councils throughout Canada; there are also documents relating to folk arts projects which include performances in Canada Day festivities, Commonwealth Games, Canadian Heritage Games, Olympic Games, Festival Canada, Festrada (World Festival of Traditional Arts), FOCUS seminars, Kingston International Festival, National Folk Arts Festival and others.

Photographic material in this series consists chiefly of albums created to commemorate CFAC events such as folk dancing performances in Canada and abroad and exhibitions showcasing how various cultures celebrate Easter and Christmas. The material dates largely to the Centennial year (1967) and afterwards to the 1970's. Many photographs in these albums were taken by William F Van Duyn of Toronto. Albums include the "Nationbuilders' Ball" events (1966-1970). There is also a small quantity of photographs documenting the Queen's visit in June, 1973.

Series also includes moving image recordings documenting music and dance performances at various cultural festivals held across Canada including: a series of video recordings documenting "Festival of Friends: The Arts And Culture Program of The XI Commonwealth Games", 1978, produced by the Canadian Folk Arts Council and featuring performances by various ethnic dancers and musicians; three episodes from "Festival '78" an art and culture television program presented during the XI Commonwealth Games; performances by the Rob Roy Dancers, Danish Folk Dancers, and Boys from the Austrian Alps, 1979, sponsored by the Kingston and District
Folk Arts Council; Canada Day 1979; Canada Day 1980; and performances from the 1976 "Ontario on Parade" music and dance show, held at Ontario Place, Toronto, Ontario.

Also included in series are pre-mix sound elements from a public service radio announcement for Canada Day, 1978.
