Series consists of: proceedings of meetings; speeches, lectures, and talks given by National Archives officials and political dignitaries; interviews, including oral history; and sound documentaries.
Proceedings of meetings include the following: a forum to discuss the exhibit on fashion photography sponsored by the Public Archives of Canada with speakers Helen Levine, Joanna Hickey and Liz Shein; proceedings of the Public Archives of Canada's Archives Branch Senior Management Committee Annual program review meeting (Montebello II) held at the Talisman Motor Hotel; an Ottawa Meeting of the Constitution Committee of the Archives Section; proceedings of the Canadian Historical Association with archivists from the Public Archives of Canada about the creation of an independent association of Canadian archivists; proceedings of the meeting of Division Chiefs, Historical Branch, Public Archives of Canada, held at the Château Montebello; and proceedings of the National Archives of Canada Managers' Conference in Cornwall, Ontario.
Interviews include the following: Ed Laine; archivist Sam Kula and Peter Morris for CBC's Sunday Supplement; Auguste Vachon; the sound track of the video-taped interview of Leo La Clare, archivist, by Judith McCann, publicity office; Jean-Pierre Wallot, National Archivist; Louis-Philippe Audet, historian; Dr. Valeri Tishka, senior researcher at the Institute of World History of the Academy of Science of the Soviet Union Talk; and Dr. Wendell MacLeod. Also, interview of Jim Macdonnell, Sound Conservator at the National Archives (GPC) by Caroline Forcier-Holloway and Rosemary Bergeron.
Oral history interviews include the following: philatelists and postal historians by Cimon Morin; Colonel Robert H. Pratt, Anatole Walker and Guy des Rivières; Richard Ernest Bolton by Dorothy Franklin and Linda Campani of the Public Archives of Canada; James A. Woolven, co-owner of the architectural firm The Iron Cat Limited, by Nadia Kazmyra-Dzioba, archivist; Mr. E.A. Gardner, former chief architect of Public Works, by Nadia Kazymyra-Dzioba and Janet Unglio; Michael G.C. Ellwood and Joan Breneta about architects J. Austin Floyd and H.L. Fetherstonhaugh; an interview in Italian with Mr. Anselmo Bortolotti; and interviews with German immigrants, usually in German.
Speeches are given by the following: Dr. W.I. Smith, Dominion Archivist and Honourable Gérard Pelletier, at the opening of the Telecomunications Exhibition; the Honourable Richard S. Bowles, Lieutenant-Governor of Manitoba, delivered at the opening of the Public Archives of Canada exhibition "The Birth of Manitoba"; Gérard Pelletier, Maurice Reeger, Guy Dubosiq, Jeffery Ede, James B. Rhoads, and Pierre-Elliott Trudeau, at the opening of the Public Archives of Canada exhibition "Archives, Mirror of Canada Past", marking the centennial of the Public Archives; and the opening speeches of the XIV Congress of the Universal Postal Union held in Ottawa on October 14, 1957.
There is also a series of lectures delivered by Hugh Taylor, Canadian archival scholar and Archives course director at the Canadian Archives Course held at the National Archives of Canada in Ottawa from September to October, 1987.
