Fonds consists of a selection of prints from the series "Passages," made by archivists with photographer Hillel, as well as a second donation of prints from the same series, assembled in a formal, bound container (edition 19/100).

Selection of images made by archivists include: photographs of local Synagogue interiors and religious objects: the Menorah and Scroll, Parnass Synagogue, Hutchison Street, Montreal, 1983; old scrolls inside the Ark, Montreal; building a Succah, Jeanne Mance Street, Montreal; members of Montreal's Jewish community: mother and her children, Jeanne Mance Street; Mr. Fishman, herring merchant; Mrs. Luden in her kitchen; Kabbalist painter Solomon Benarosh; Reverend Abdullah Hillel (Hillel's grandfather). Other images include: Shofar Blower across the St. Lawrence River overlooking Montreal; the Monument Factory, Berson and Sons Monuments on St. Laurent Boulevard, Montreal; The Crossing, recess at Belzer Hassidic School, Montreal.

"Passages" series in container, edition 19/100 includes 10 black and white prints, including 4 repeated images from the selection made by archivists and 6 additional views not originally acquired by archival staff.
