Series consists of moving images produced by Associated Screen Industries and by other filmmakers between 1958 and 1969. Included are documentaries, animated films, shorts including television commercials and public service announcements, episodes from various Canadian television programs, and soundtracks.

Included are 54 animated film shorts for children from the series entitled Pick a Letter, directed and produced for Screen Gems (Canada) Limited; eleven programs from the syndicated fitness and health television series entitled The Bonnie Prudden Show; several episodes from the Pierre Berton Show; musical shorts from the series Scopitone; programs from the Canadian-made television series Moment of Truth; and title credits for Canadian Movietone News.

Associated Screen Industries : Motion picture laboratory Associated Screen Industries Limited, a subsidiary of Du Art Film Laboratories Inc. of New York, went into operation and was incorporated in 1958, following Du Art's purchase of Associated Screen News Limited (ASN) in 1957. Associated Screen Industries (ASI) was headquartered in Montreal and had a branch in Toronto. ASI continued the laboratory operation of Associated Screen News, but ceased almost all production, apart from advertising trailers for feature films, newsreel stories and the occasional short subject. The printing of American feature films for distribution to Canadian theatres was a core business for ASI's lab, as it had been with ASN. ASI also offered editing services. In 1958 ASI began handling the physical distribution of feature films in the Montreal area, later contracting this out in order to shift resources to meet the increased demand for its black-and-white and colour film processing. In 1964, ASI bought the sound-recording facilities of Edward Productions of Montreal. Al Young was the president of both Du Art and ASI. Murray Briskin, former executive assistant to the president of ASN, was vice-president and general manager. Al Young's son Irwin Young was vice-president, becoming president upon the death of his father in 1960. ASN veteran cameraman and director Roy Tash managed the Toronto office, shooting newsreel stories until 1967, when the last American newsreel, News of the Day, ceased operations. In 1969, Du Art sold ASI to Bellevue Pathé Limited and ASI became Bellevue Pathé Québec Limited. Canadian Film Weekly, February 12, 1958, Volume 23, Number 7, p. 3
