Biography/Administrative history:

Fenton, Faith, 1857-1936 : Faith Fenton, investigative journalist, 1857-1936. By day her name was Alice Freeman and she was a Toronto school teacher while at night she became Faith Fenton, investigative journalist. She eventually became a full-time journalist and was a first-hand witness to the Klondike Gold Rush. As a newspaper correspondent, Fenton made the difficult trek with 200 Canadian soldiers who were sent to the Yukon as the "Yukon Field Force". She spent five years in the Klondike before returning to Toronto.
