Series consists of photographs of local Renfrew businesses, street scenes, buildings, and celebrations including Lord Aberdeen's visit in 1895 and Renfrew's Golden Jubilee in 1908 (ca. 1890-1987); various local sports teams including hockey, lacrosse, baseball and rugby (1905-1948); various creameries at Renfrew, Belleville, Bancroft, Napanee, Sharbot Lake, Seaforth, Walkerton, and Tamsworth, Ont., Regina, Sask., and Lloydminster, Alta. (1895-1927); lumbering scenes from the Ottawa Valley including lumberjacks at work, mills and various rivers (1900-1915); scenes relating to the railway including the CPR rock cut near Calabogie, Ont., the Lavant Station on Kingston & Pembroke Railway, the CPR train crossing Sharbot Lake, Ont, the CPR stations at Calabogie, Sand Point, Seaforth and Renfrew, Ont., the CNR station at Lloydminster, Alta., and the wreck of Canadian Pacific Engine 2858 at Carleton Place, Ont. (1912-1945).
Series also includes photographs of power development projects and dams at Renfrew, Pine River, Banff, Alta., and the Saugeen and Madawaska Rivers (1905-1973); churches including the first church near Black Donald Mines, Ont., St. Mary's Church in Westmeath, Ont., and the Roman Catholic churches in Patrick, Springton and Black Donald Mines, Ont.; schools in Seaforth, Burnstown, Renfrew, McNab Township, Rolph, Buchanan and Wylie Townships and Black Donald Mines, Ont., and the Ontario Agricultural College at Guelph, Ont. (1918-1923); portraits of Thomas B. Muir, Rev. Canon WMH Quartermain, M.J. O'Brien, L.T. O'Brien, James S. Dempsey, MLA, Sergeant Harry Airth, Renfrew MP A.A. Wright and family, Thomas McMillan, MP for South Huron and Joseph William Noseworth.
Photographs also include scenes relating to the military including the Renfrew MilitiamCompany, the Overseas Attachment of the 42nd Regiment, a reunion of the 240th Battalion, the emergency landing of a WWI RAF training plane at Seaforth, Ont., WWI munitions and explosive plants in Renfrew, the Renfrew War Memorial, a bayamo BM-3 aircraft, the graves of soldiers, and various pipe bands (1897-1951); the remainder of the photos feature buildings, businesses and celebrations in various towns including Burnstown, Haliburton, Barry's Bay, McNab Township, Griffith, Waba, Sharbot Lake, Walkerton, and Seaforth, Ont., Coleraine Township, Quebec and Wilke and Regina, Sask. (1888-ca. 1964).
