Jean Vanier, son of the former Governor-General, talks with Hana Gartner at the chapel of St. Augustine Seminary near Toronto. Jean Vanier talks about his life's work with the "little people" of society - the outcasts and handicapped. He explains the philosophy of caring for others which springs from his Christian conviction and sense of joy in his fellowman. The home for retarded men which Jean Vanier established in 1964 in France, led to the spread of similar communities in thirteen different countries. At this time there are fifty-four "L'Arche" communities, and we see film of one of these - an active farm outside Toronto called "Daybreak". <30mn>Language:EnglishOriginal number:61-2-2107-8186Notes:Detailed holdings information: -
