Corrigan begins by describing his family's stopping place serving the lumber trade at Lake St. Patrick and the Black River. He talks about the natural cures and skills his mother learned from the Native people in the area. After the family moved to Fort Coulonge, Corrigan recalls he didn't like school and quit to join his father and work in the lumber camps at age 14. He recounts some of his lumbering days including shooting rapids in a pointer boat, breaking his leg in a lumber camp on Christmas Eve, 1939, and describing the social life in the lumber camps. To conclude, Corrigan discusses his ancestors, early settlers in the Ottawa Valley.Language:EnglishNotes:Detailed holdings information: -
