Interview of Jim McKnight and Eddie Albert, former hockey players and knowledgeable hockey fans. To begin, Albert and McKinnon talk about their families who were from the Ottawa Valley. Claiming that the Ottawa Valley was "the cradle of the NHL", they discuss many notable hockey players they knew such as King Clancy, Hec Kilrae, Howie Morenz, Frank Finnigan and others. Albert recalls the Auditorium, an artificial ice hockey arena in Ottawa on Argyle Street and the popularity of the hockey games including those of the Ottawa Senators. They also remember M. Proulx who made hockey sticks for the players in his workshop next to the arena. They compare hockey as it was played in the 1930s and 40s to that played presently with respect to hockey equipment, skating ability and violence on the ice. Other topics include the beginning of hockey broadcasting, the Ottawa City league, the Quebec Senior league and the NHL. Throughout the interview Albert and McKinnon recount many humorous stories about players, coaches, trainers, club owners and others connected with earlier years of hockey.
