Fonds consists of a a rehearsal copy and broadcast copy of a talk given by Dr. Colin Dafoe, recorded by CBC Radio. Dafoe discusses his experiences as a doctor in Yugoslavia between 1944 and 1945, treatment of partisan forces led by Communist guerrilla fighter Josip Broz Tito, setting up hospitals to treat wounded partisan fighters, and his impressions of partisans soldiers and Tito.

Dafoe, Colin, 1909-1969 : Colin Scott Dafoe, Canadian, was born in 1909. During the Second World War he was a major in the Royal Army Medical Corps on special assignment with Britain's Special Operations Executive, a clandestine arm of British Intelligence. His missions included parachuting behind enemy lines into German-occupied Yugoslavia to operate on the maimed and wounded. Dafoe was given the Order of Service to the People on the eve of his departure from Yugoslavia in 1944. In the summer of 1984, during ceremonies marking the fortieth anniversary of his night landing in Bosnia, he was posthumously awarded the Medal of Victory and the Order of Merit. Dafoe disappeared in the Canadian Rockies in July 1969.
