Fonds consists of the documentary films Arctic doctor (1977), and Arctic wonderland (1947-1950). Both films chronicle Dr. Joseph Palmer Moody's experiences as a medical doctor to the Inuit in the East Arctic of Canada.

Moody, Joseph P : Joseph Palmer Moody was born in Canada. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1946 and, thereafter, applied for government medical service in the Arctic. Soon after, he moved with his wife and daughter to Chesterfield Inlet on the west coast of Hudson Bay where, for three years, he worked as a Health Officer for the Canadian Department of National Health and Welfare. During this time Moody also became a consultant for the military, a prospector, and an advocate for the preservation of the Arctic. Moody's experiences are chronicled in Medicine man to the Inuit : a young doctor's adventures among the Eskimos [Inuit], published in 1995. He also wrote Arctic doctor published in 1955, produced the film Arctic wonderland (1947-1950), and wrote and narrated the film Arctic doctor (1977). Jerome, Rosemarie. "Biographies." 6 March 2002.
