Fonds consists of sound recordings that provide a portrait of CFRB at various times. There are talks by members of the royal family and by Canadian, British, and American politicians, especially during and after the war, such as Willliam Lyon Mackenzie King, Winston churchill, Harry Truman, Clement Attlee and John Diefenbaker. There are American popluar programs such as Ma Perkins and The Garry Moore show. These programs originated from the CBC radio network to which CFRB was affiliated. There is also a sampling of CFRB's own productions with the voices of John Collingwood Reade, Gordon Sinclair, Kate Aitken, Wes McKnight, Jack Dennett and Wally Crouter. Commentaries on news and social events, documentaries on the station's history, sportcasts of football games and golf tournaments are particualarly well represented.

CFRB (Radio station : Toronto, Ont.) : Radio Station CFRB (Toronto) was founded in 1927 by E.S. "Ted" Rodgers who perfected the radio tube, becoming the world's first batteryless station. In 1928 CFRB joined Columbia Broadcasting System of the United States. In the same year the station became the first to broadcast news direct from the editorial room of a newspaper. CFRB continues today as one of Toronto's premier radio stations.
