The item is titled "Additions to the Harris family history" and was compiled by the Harris Family Tree Committee, whose secretary was Evelyn Bingham of Mitchell, Ontario. It comprises typescript narratives, family group forms, photocopied documents, and handwritten annotations, all of which are intended revisions or additions to an original Harris family history written some fifty years earlier. This family history traces the descendants of James Harris and Mary Tremeer of Bradworthy, Devonshire, England, who had married in 1749. Its emphasis is on the Harris descendants who settled in Howick township, Huron County and Darlington township, Durham County Ontario, and spread to western Canada and North Dakota.
