This sub-series contains drafts of Gool's novels and short stories, plot outlines and early manuscript drafts of published works. Undated manuscripts include 'Dusk - a Novel' and 'The Magic Castle.' The latter, Gool mentioned in a Profile for the Writers Union of Canada 'Bulletin/Newsletter' 1985, was for his grandchildren. Early drafts of 'Price' are entitled 'A Matter of Time' ca. 1957 and 'Against the Current' 1958. The typescript of 'Price of Admission' bears the dates 1952-1966 and other drafts of 'Price' are dated from 1973-1976. Early 'Operation Cordelia' manuscripts n.d., 1948-1986 and Gool's manuscripts of 'Nemesis Casket' (under the pseudonym, Ved Devajee) n.d., 1974-1983, as well as reviews by other writers of Gool's work, and printed extracts from these novels, form a large part of this sub-series.

Manuscripts of Gool's short stories include 'The Peasant Bosman', 'Mother of God', 'The Big House', 'The Assassin', 'Bernard in P.E.I.', 'The Certainty - a short story', 'The Dream Machine - a children's story', 'A Real Alternative' 1967, 'The Paradox of Priviledge (sic)' 1967, and 'A Kind of Integrity' 1968. Gool's notes from a taped interview regarding 'The Nemesis Casket' 1983 also form part of this sub-series.
