Sub-sub-series consists of incoming correspondence known as the "Second Series". This correspondence is numbered as follows: 5097-5555, for the period 18 January 1887 to 12 August 1887 (Vol. 52); 5647-6043, for the period 17 September 1887 to 13 February 1888 (Vol. 53); 6044-6080, for the period 13 February 1888 to 24 July 1888 (Vol. 54); and 6481-6990, for the period 25 July 1888 to 26 December 1888 (Vol. 55).

All correspondence in this "Second Series" is registered in microfilm reel T-2035, also attached to this descriptive record.
